Flip-Flopping

I guess George believed we could win a war on terrorism before he believed we could not win a war on terrorism, but now he is back to believing we can win a war on terrorism.

  1. This is not flip flopping; it reflects an equivocal interpretation of the word, win. If what we understand by the word, win, is what would constitute victory in a traditional war, then of course we cannot win the war on terror. But, if what we understand by the word, win, is relatable to the kind of war we are waging, then of course we can win.
