I like the idea of an Incline. I also like Wendell Young, but we need to focus on building a Streetcar and battles ahead instead of pushing new ideas.
The revised blog post linked above from Jane Prendergast also implies that Young is hedging on the Streetcar. I hope Wendell clarifies his position.
What Wendell is doing here is creating an excuse for himself to withdrawl his support for the street car. He recently created excuses for reversing his vote to study city-county consolidation of the police department. He didn't deserve to get appointed in the first place, and is clearly doing anything he can to not rock the boat and keep his Council seat. What a waste. He's there to double dip -- collect a pension and council salary.
